Inside jokes at the Tower
Over the years, Tower residents have suffered though their share of jokes and wisecracks - usually stemming from management rules regarding pets. At one point, the joke even made it to the St. Petersburg Times satire column written by Jaoquin Sanders. Several fake letters from management have been known to float around the building from time to time. These letters and memos have been contributed to our history project by longtime resident, Bill Mills, Jr.

We're not sure when this column was printed in the St. Petersburg Times, but it had to be sometime after 1985 because it mentions racecars. The first St. Pete Grand Prix was in November 1985. Jaoquin Sanders, a popular columnist for many years at the Times was responsible for this tidbit of humor. |
